About this role
What you would do
Cleanup Crew: pick up bottles, cans, trash and debris across the watershed, one town at a time
Water Quality Monitoring: collect and test water samples on and around Barnegat Bay
School field trip assistant: run hands on stations where students get in the water and see live animals
EcoCenter grounds: weed gardens, water plants, rake leaves and remove tripping hazards
Office help: water plants, organize files, prep supplies and stuff envelopes
Fundraiser assistant: set up and break down 2 to 3 events a year
Festival volunteer: staff a table at community events
Save Barnegat Bay works out of a 40 acre EcoCenter on Haines Road in Toms River. Cleanup crews meet twice a month and work through 37 watershed towns one town at a time. Water monitoring volunteers get training and supplies before they start. The group also keeps a youth volunteer list.
