About this role

What you would do

Meet your Ukrainian student for a one hour video chat every week
Practice English with your partner in ordinary conversation
Learn about each other's cultures and share your own
Offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection
Use ENGin's library of resources to guide your sessions
Show up each week, protect your partner's privacy and give notice before stepping away
Complete the self-paced online training, about one hour
Meet one on one or in a mini-group with two or three partners

ENGin pairs English speakers with Ukrainian youth who want real practice with a real person. Many of these students are studying through war and disrupted school years, so a steady weekly chat matters to them. No teaching experience or Ukrainian language knowledge is needed. Everything happens online, so volunteers can take part from anywhere.
