About this role
What you would do
Horticulture Youth Assistant, ages 12 to 17: help organize events, chaperone attendees and oversee activities at camps and programs
Miller's Assistant, 15 and up: set up Cooper Gristmill, interpret the technology to visitors, bag flour and meal, assist with closing
Craft Demonstrators, 15 and up: assist with programs showing domestic and industrial chores of the late 19th century
T.E.A.M. Camp Junior Counselor, 15 and up: help run summer STEAM camps with outdoor games, science experiments and hands-on activities
Farm Camp Junior Counselor, 15 and up: lead animal activities, gardening, crafts and a historic object demonstration
Events and Crafts Volunteer at Speedwell, 15 and up: assist at History By Hand programs with pottery, Morse code and iron casting
Special Events Volunteer at Fosterfields, 15 and up: help behind the scenes at events held through the year
Gardenworks: plant, propagate, prune and identify plants with staff at Frelinghuysen, Willowwood and Bamboo Brook
Morris County Park Commission runs arboretums, historic farms and mills, trails and nature centers across the county. Teen volunteers spend most of their time outdoors and with visitors, often at camps, gardens and living history sites. Many roles follow a weekly morning schedule or cluster around summer camps and seasonal events. Closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing are required for garden and grounds work.
