About this role
VolunTEENs assist Camp Counselor staff with the zoo's Summer Camp program. They help prepare the daily camp sessions, support campers through activities, and keep campers together and safe while on zoo grounds. The zoo frames the role as a way to learn about the animals in the collection and share enthusiasm for wildlife with younger peers. New VolunTEENs are interviewed in person as part of the application and attend a mandatory one-day training session. The application requires two recommendation letters from non-family members and two short essays.
