About this role

What you would do

  • Assist trained Young Athletes Coaches with the program
  • Help at weekly guided play sessions for children ages 2 through 7
  • Sessions build foundational skills: strength, flexibility and body awareness
  • Sessions cover walking and running, balance and jumping, trapping and catching, throwing, striking and kicking
Young Athletes is the Special Olympics New Jersey play program for young children with and without intellectual disabilities. Children learn social skills such as taking turns and playing with teammates, and families get to play together. Sessions run weekly at community sites around the state.
