About this role
Bergen New Bridge assigns teen volunteers to a department based on interest and availability. Areas include long term care, where volunteers help residents with daily activities and support staff during recreation and mealtimes, therapeutic recreation, concierge services at the main entrance, the emergency department, clerical work and the ambulatory care clinic. Every shift is three hours and volunteers keep a weekly schedule with at least one shift. The medical center states that volunteering here satisfies requirements for school curriculum or community service hours. Onboarding runs two to three weeks and includes a phone interview, orientation modules and a health screening.
