About this role
Members aged 16 and 17 join the corps as cadets, with full active membership beginning at 18. No prior training or experience is required before joining. Cadets must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, complete the EMT curriculum and obtain a Professional Level CPR card. The corps arranges both the EMT training and the CPR certification at no cost to the member. Applicants do not need to be Bergenfield residents, though the corps limits the percentage of out-of-town members it can accept.
