About this role
Collection Specialists learn to organize materials on carts, shelf-read, straighten sections and pull items from the shelves to fill loan requests. Teen Volunteers assist with rotating monthly programs, including Brick Buddies, where a volunteer reads a book and works through a Lego challenge with a kindergarten or first grade patron, and Special Events, where volunteers assist librarians during onsite programs. Everyone registers for and attends a mandatory orientation first, then completes an online application and signs up for open slots through the Volgistics scheduling system. Collection Specialists may volunteer no more than once per day and twice per week.
