About this role
What you would do
- Way Finder: provide directions to patients and guests and escort them to their location
- Information Desk Volunteer: assist visitors and patients at the main lobby desk
- Nurse Unit Volunteer: report to charge nurses and provide support to staff and patients
- Gift Shop: assist with stocking, organizing and customer service interactions
- Art Program: help with art projects instead of visiting patients in their rooms
- Hospitality Carts: assist inpatients and families waiting in the surgical waiting areas
- Mailroom Support: sort mail from the Post Office, RMC and offsite facilities
Capital Health places junior volunteers in patient areas, offices and gift shops. The programme does not include shadowing medical staff or clinical experience. The year-round track runs September 14, 2026 through June 30, 2027. A separate summer track runs July 5 to August 27, 2027 and asks for at least 56 hours.
